Big Brother 8 USA - Is Big Brother rigged?
Big Brother is one of CBS’s highest rated shows. The show follows 13 houseguests as they lie, scheme and do whatever else it takes to be the last man or woman standing at the end of three months. The winner is rewarded with a $500,000 cash prize.
This season, as in seasons past, there are a few houseguests that stand out, but none so much as the Donatos, Dick Donato and his daughter Danielle.
Danielle entered the house first, but her father came in a short while after in what CBS was calling a “twist” in the game. A few of the houseguests were going to have the misfortune of having someone from there past enter the house and compete against them. No one in the house was supposed to know about this twist.
Over the course of the last few months “Evel” Dick, as he is known to his friends, has shown the world exactly how evil he really is. He has verbally and physically assaulted other players. He has attacked the houseguests’ sexual preferences, their spiritual beliefs and their families and CBS has stood by and watched him do it all, but why? Are the ratings so important that you would allow one man to put you in the position where the network could possibly be sued for a whole host of things? The answer to that question is obviously yes, because ED continues to play the game with the same malicious, hateful, childish behavior that he has since the beginning, but as the weeks go on you start to see that things aren’t exactly what they seem.
There are a number of sites on the web dedicated to Big Brother. On these sites you can read blogs and recaps about what’s going on in the house. These bloggers and BB enthusiast subscribe to the live feeds and report every word and action on their site.
Throughout those sites everyone seems to be all a buzz about how Dick and his “innocent” daughter Danielle are playing the game, but there is also talk of blatant cheating by ED and allegations that the game is possibly rigged in order for ED and his daughter to stay in the house longer or possibly when the whole game.
Some of Dick’s nasty behavior as been displayed on the show, but that’s only a fraction of the kind of hate this man is capable of. During the live feeds Dick really turns it up. In fact the editor’s at CBS should win an Emmy for the editing they’ve done on this man to make him look like a half way decent person.
On the feeds ED has talked about how he and his daughter are the stars of the show. He’s also gone on to say how the CBS producers have told him at one point or another to keep up the good work or to turn his foul behavior up a notch. All of that is subject to whether you believe anything that ED says, but over the last few weeks he and his daughter have been saying quite a lot, probably more then they should have.
Dick has allegedly said during the live feeds that he instructed his son to write him a letter that he would receive during his HOH reign. This letter was supposed to have information about the other guest, Information that he isn’t allowed to have. Dick allegedly received this letter whether the information was beneficial or not, but was not penalized by CBS.
Also during the feeds Danielle has allegedly said that she knew that her and her dad were going to be on the show together, in fact they rode in the same limo, but how can that be? Wasn’t that the “twist” this season? And last but not least, the Power of Veto competition where houseguest Jameka Cameron, the school counselor from Waldorf, MD was disqualified.
During the POV contest all the remaining houseguests that were allowed to play had to catch green balls and place them in a thin cylinder. The first to fill up their cylinder with green balls would win, but if you placed a different color ball in your cylinder then you would be disqualified.
At one point in the competition Jameka was ahead, but then out of nowhere a blue ball was in her cylinder and Julie Chen announced that she was disqualified. Jameka pleaded with CBS stating that she didn’t place the blue ball in her cylinder, but she was still disqualified.
Although it seems small, the controversy around that POV is heating up.
Since the competition Jameka has been evicted from the house, but there is a lot of speculation about whether or not Dick was actually the one to place that ball in her cylinder. According to realitytvmagazine.com, in a conversation between ED and his daughter Danielle, Dick is heard asking, “how do like the fact that Jameka really won the POV?”. It is believed that CBS might have talked to him about the botched POV competition because ED went on the say, “you’ve got fifty million ****ing cameras, ****ing replay and you find out what the **** happened if there’s any ****ing question, not five days later, before the next competition.”
Realitytvmagazine.com is also reporting that CBS has made a statement to Entertainment Weekly that the blue ball bounced all on it’s on into Jameka’s cylinder, but if that is true then why was Jameka disqualified. In previous seasons when competition went array the producers watched the tapes and the game was played over, but not this time.
Whether or not you believe any of these conspiracy theories it is clear to those that watch, including me, that there is a double standard in the BB house when comes to the Donatos.
CBS has clearly allowed Dick Donato with his foul mouth and behavior to go way over the edge and I hope that it was worth it. I hope they received all ratings they could stand this year because it could have very well hurt their ratings for years to come

Well the game was rigged for the simple fact that you had an america’s player and that suspicious extremely well timed plane passing overhead saying not to trust Eric. Eric being America’s player meant outside people seeing different stuff could influence decisions. Or someone who didn’t care about their time and texting bill could make a difference in the AP vote. I think this was the worst BB ever and hopefully the producers should be fired for their terrible decisions.
I will not be watching the finale! Didn’t watch the last show and could not care less.

I agree with your entire article. it’s sad to see all the audience getting brainwashed by CBS and really believing the Donatos are the best BB players ever. they were lucky to be the producers powerhouse this year and would have never went that far if it wouldn’t be because of all the suspicious twists this year which all worked in their fortunes.
jen got punished for eating despite being on slop and ED got nothing for anything he has done in the house to all the other players and obviously cheating? R-I-G-H-T
here’s another one who’s not watching the final.
I just wish next year will be like it was on BB3 for the last time - 12 or 14 complete strangers with no stupid twist. it’s not entertaining to see people interact who had a personal relationship pre-BB which influences the game so much (this year was just the top).
no Americas Player, no Coup d’etat and no double standards in favour of white trash as the donats anymore - PLEASE!

Interesting to note actually, that in 8 seasons of the show, only 3 of them (1, 2, 3) have been 100% strangers, the rest have all had people that know others (4 - ex twist, 5 - Twins twist, 6 - pairs twist, 7 - all stars, 8 enemies twist).

I really was disappointed and discusted by this years BB USA.. America’s player?? Yeah rightttttttttt more like America give us more money for your Verison bill and we will make him vote OUR (PRODUCERS) way.. and having BLOOD relatives in the house?? Please.. no matter how much I’d be mad at my relatives I still would NOT vote them out of a game… This was the most rediculas season as of yet and like the last few to post here I will NOT watch the fanle because the only reason I would is to watch their reaction to AP being revieled but to tell you the truth.. I think has been told to them already in the Jury house .. CBS Please Please PLEASE next year just make it “Big Brother” and not “Big Production!” thats IMO

I’m in the UK.
I have been completely mesmerised by your posts of BB8 USA. Never watched it before, so thankyou very much. I hate the Donatos by the way! I can’t seem to be able to donate to your site, so if you could publish a charity of your choice- I would like to donate an amount to them…
Again many thanks.. keep up the good work..

Why are you unable to donate Lauren? If clicking the donate button does not work you can always send it direct to my paypal address which is starletsworld@hotmail.com, failing that the charity I usually support is wateraid (http://www.wateraid.org)
