Lunarpages Offer for DreamHost Customers

So, imagine my surprise when I came online yesterday to an email informing me that my webhosting company, Dreamhost, had taken my yearly hosting payment of $114 – why did this surprise me? Well it wasn’t due until June, cue a mad panic from me, how had I got it so wrong? did I have enough money to cover the payment right now? While I was frantically trying to dig through old emails and the like to verify when the bill was due….along came another one, another $114 charged to my credit card! Well this is when I knew something wasn’t quite right, I managed to find a post I had made the day I joined Dreamhost and sure enough it was in June – a quick google later and I found out I wasn’t the only one in this boat, Dreamhost had billed their entire customer base by accident, an accident to the tune of $7.5 Million – I kid you not. Ouch.

Obviously a lot of people were mad about this, heck I was mad because they’d caused me a mad panic for a while there…but then there’s also the poor souls who ended up without money to pay other bills, going overdrawn, not having any cash to even get the train home etc. Not to mention that the ‘jokey’ attitude Dreamhost took when explaining what had happened rubbed people the wrong way, let’s be honest it is kinda funny….a $7.5 million error, wow….but when people’s money is involved there’s a time to take things seriously.

Well, here comes Lunarpages to the rescue. Lunarpages Offer for DreamHost Customers, if like a lot of people you no longer trust Dreamhost then this might just be the solution for you…they are offering a discount to all those affected by Dreamhosts ineptitude and not only that but they will buy out your remaining contract with Dreamhost. Win/Win. Lunarpages have been in business for over 8 years, have already highly competitive prices and offer every thing you could ever need in a host plus lots more, including an extremely generous affiliate program. So, if you want out – you know where to go now. right?

Big Brother Celebrity Hijack – Episode # 13

And here we are at highlights show number 13, almost half way through the series. Brian Sewell hijacks the house today, someone a little different…I think a guy like him would be the last person you’d have predicted would have any thing to do with Big Brother a few weeks ago. Things get off to a rocky start, but all ends well and a thoroughly enjoyable show it turns out to be.

Big Brother Celebrity Hijack – Episode # 12

I really like Chris Moyles and I really enjoyed his hijack, though not as much as I feel I should have. I love that he did different things, lots of things, things outside of the norm for Big Brother UK – but it felt like there was a real lack of interest from the housemates, it seemed like they were down and lacking enthusiasm and therefore it just wasn’t that much fun. Still my second favourite hijack though, and I love BB Aled :)

Unlimited Internet Phone Calls

Do any of you use any sort of Internet Phone service? It seems that it is becoming the ‘must have’ thing these days. Maybe this news will interest some of you, iConnectHere has just introduced a new calling plan called the World Plan Unlimited. For just $29.99 per month, you can get unlimited calls to any destination and at the moment all new customers are being offered a $30 sign up bonus, which makes your first month with them absolutely free. Can’t complain about that huh? And just in case all that wasn’t good enough they are also currently running a sweepstake where you can win an iPod by simply filling out a form that takes a matter of seconds, gotta be worth a punt right? I have entered, fingers crossed.

A few minor site updates

You may have noticed that I got rid of the ugly social bookmarking links at the bottom of each entry, I feel they made things look messy. So instead I now have the share this link, it basically allows for the same thing to happen…for you to bookmark and share any entry you like on all the big social networking sites. It also quickly and easily allows you to email any entry you like to your friends which is a super handy feature I think. In addition you may have noticed the Amazon adverts, this is something that I am trialling at the moment to see if it is any good, and that’s why the recommended fitness DVDs post is a ’sticky’ – it won’t be staying there forever, but I am currently trying to find ways to make more money from RealityTVFan.org without turning it into a big ugly looking mess or distract from the actual content – so you may also see other similar things popping up in the coming weeks while I try to find the right balance :)
