Big Brother 9 UK – Finale Ratings
Last weeks Big Brother 9 finale drew a series high of 4.71million. Though the highest in the series, its the lowest of all nine Big Brother finale’s ratings.

The main results show, which saw Rachel Rice crowned the surprise winner, drew an average of 4.71m (23%) for Channel 4 in the 10pm hour. While still huge numbers for the channel, the ratings are the lowest for a BB finale in its nine series history. Last year’s August 31 finale drew 5.3m (29%), which was also a record low at the time and a fall from the 7.5m who watched the 2006 finale.
The best-rated BB finale was the 2002 edition, won by Kate Lawler, with 9.4m. The victory of transexual contestant Nadia Almeida in 2004 also drew huge numbers, with an average audience of 8.3m.
Earlier last night, the first live show pulled in 3.85m (16.9%) in the 8pm hour. Timeshifted service Channel 4+1 brought in additional audiences of 376,000 (1.9%) to the 8pm show and 166,000 (1.5%) to the 10pm show.
E4’s spinoff chatshow Big Brother’s Big Mouth, fronted by Davina McCall, received a massive ratings boost with with 1.03m (8.7%) for E4 between 11pm and 11.50pm. E4+1 added 86,000 (1.5%).
