Site News: New Computer Fund
You may have noticed the ChipIn widget that has appeared over in the sidebar, I mentioned briefly in this post that I may be adding one and seeking donations to help me pay for a much needed new computer, I have worked out that I need around $300.
Long story short is that my current computer consists mainly of hand-me-down parts from both my dad and my boyfriend and over the last few months it has really struggled to perform as it should. It lags constantly, it takes as much as 15 minutes to boot up and be in a usable state, programs crash all the time, flash won’t work, I can’t load even the most basic programs some times etc etc the list goes on. Obviously this effects my ability to cut and upload the videos and it’s becoming more and more frustrating to do so — with so many shows to upload it’d be nice to have a fully working speedy computer since I will have two shows I am doing each and every day.
I had my boyfriend spec up the bits I will need and this is what he came up with (click for bigger view):
£388.62 ($615.34)
- £125 ($200) of my own money that I have already saved up.
- £30 ($50) already donated by two kind souls from when I mentioned it in the previous post.
- £50 ($80) I should be able to get from selling on my current power supply and graphics card.
= £183.62 ($291, rounded up to $300)

As ever donations are not expected but come very much appreciated. All donations are great, no matter how small as it all adds up. I don’t expect to receive the full amount as $300 is a lot of money, but I will continue to save up my own money and hopefully be able to make up any deficit by selling some stuff on eBay (it’ll do me good to have a clear out actually!).
