Big Brother 8 Aus – Corey Worthington set to star!

Australia hasn’t seen the last of suburban hell raiser Corey Worthington and his trademark yellow sunglasses — the Victorian teenager is rumoured to be set to appear on this year’s series of Big Brother.

The 17-year-old, who gained worldwide notoriety after hosting a massive party at his parent’s house in Melbourne, is believed to have secured a spot as an intruder on the Channel Ten series, the Daily Telegraph reports.

“His fame and notoriety hasn’t escaped the executive producers of Big Brother … he would deliver the Ten demographic in droves,” a Channel Ten source said in January.

But former BB runner-up Tim Brunero told ninemsn Worthington would be like “a tissue in the rain” under Big Brother’s non-stop scrutiny.

“This is a guy who can’t even take his glasses off, so I think he’s going to last about 20 minutes under this sort of scrutiny,” he said.

“So far we know the first housemate is a Pauline Hanson-supporting 52-year-old … I think she’s going to make mincemeat of him.”

Brunero also claimed the show would move back to its social experiment roots after last year’s lacklustre episodes and ratings.

“I think it’s going to be back-to-basics, Big Brother the social experiment: one thing they’re bragging about is there aren’t going to be any promo models or boring people,” he said.

“It’s not going to be as much about beautiful people and who called who a moll. “The contestants will likely be from a wide spectrum of mindsets and lifestyles, not a boring homogeneous group.

“It may be making a transition from being a kids show to an adults show.”

Brunero will be part of an adult-focused BB panel show Big Mouth on Tuesdays with Tony Squires and Rebecca Wilson and will also commentate on the series at his website.

Big Brother 8 Aus – Housemate Sneak Peek: Terri

Ready for your first look at one of the new Big Brother Aus housemates? Meet Terri, a 53 year old grandmother who appears to have some quite non PC views. She’s easily the oldest housemate I have seen on the show in the last few years that I have been watching, another indication that things really are all change this year.

Big Brother Aus 8 – Will RealityTVFan.org be posting this series?

I have had several people email me over the last week to ask just that, will I be posting the upcoming series of Big Brother Australia? Well there’s good news and bad news, the good news is that yes I plan to upload the series again this year for your viewing pleasure, the bad news is that I am not sure I will be allowed to. Last year, about 60 episodes into the series my account was removed from youtube after an incident involving the Mexican flag on Friday night games, I continued to upload the series to DailyMotion out of a sense of obligation, but the videos went from getting thousands of views, to hundreds – even now a year later most of them only have a few hundred views. So my preference is to upload to youtube, but will the videos stay up? Did them removing the account last year mean that they will do the same this year if I upload there? or will they not mind this year and the only reason they took them off last year was because of the incident? I guess we will have to see how it goes with the pre series stuff I am uploading to the account, hopefully it will stay and I can post the whole series on youtube – but if it gets removed before the series starts I am afraid to say I won’t be posting it on DailyMotion this year.

So cross your fingers and toes and prey to the Channel Ten Gods :)

Big Brother Aus 8 – Adverts

I am about to post an entry with information about my plans for Big Brother Aus 8, so please check back for that shortly. But for right now I just wanted to post the first 2 promo adverts that I got my hands on tonight, one of them has been out for about 5 days already so I am a little behind the times here, ooops. The first one, for non Aussies, features the ex PM of Australia sharing his thoughts on Big Brother – pretty funny stuff. And the second one gives us a look at the new hosts, tells us of a new spin off show called Big Mouth (sound familar UK fans?) and warns us…it’s all change this year. Exciting!
