They need help!

Itr_biggerIs it just me, or do you think that some of this years Big Brother housemates may need to sign up for some Alcoholics Anonymous meetings when they get out of the house? It seems like most of the arguments in there so far have been caused by alcohol — first the ‘missing’ 5 cans of cider that Angel got the blame for, then Sree and the ‘extra’ can of beer he took.

There was also the situation a few nights ago when Kris and Charlie took it upon themselves to use a house token to get some alcohol for themselves and no one seemed to kick off about it, even though they were blatantly miffed!

Well hopefully they will see this post on leaving the house and visit the InTheRooms Meetings wiki. It’s a typical user editable wiki directory that lists information on various meetings including Alcoholics Anonymous, Narcotics Anonymous and Gamblers Anonymous among others.

I wonder if there are also meetings for people with food addictions, because it seems like if they are not fighting over the booze they are fighting over food.

Who can forget GarlicGate…or the uncooked bacon sandwiches?

Of course none of them really have addiction problems, I am just being facetious.

Biggest Loser Withdrawals

I am having withdrawals from The Biggest Loser, what with the USA, Australian and UK series all running one after the other recently I had not been a day without an episode to watch for around 4 months and then all of a sudden — when the UK version ended a week or so ago –bam — cold turkey!

It would keep me motivated to keep up with my own healthy lifestyle, as is the case for a lot of people who watch and enjoy the show I am sure. Now I am going to have to rely on my own willpower and stuff, ugh :P

product_mediumGood job I came across Webtogs.co.uk a while ago and fell in love with their range of North Face gear. They sell every thing you could need for some outdoor adventures from fleeces to tents.

Now I love shopping, so if I go ahead and spend a small fortune on new clothes and accessories for new active pursuits then it will give me that extra little kick to actually get off my behind and go out there and make use of them.

On the plus side they are currently offering free delivery to UK customers. You can get free standard delivery on all orders and even free express delivery on orders over £100.

I still want to try out white water rafting and bungee jumping after seeing Sammy do both on the last series of Australia’s Biggest Loser and thinking it looked like so much fun, but it’s one of those things you never seem to get around to.

Ebook Search Engine

Ebook_logo

EBooks are pretty awesome, right? I am sure that every one has downloaded and read an ebook or two in their time online. I love that there is so much information out there available and that so many people are willing to share their knowledge and research for free — the Internet is a wonderful thing :)

You can search pdf files at ebook-search-queen.com. They are a really big site that allows you to search 1000s of pdf, ppt, doc, txt and rtf files from around the Internet so you’ll be sure to find what it is you are looking for.

What’s great about it is that you don’t need to know the name of the ebook you are looking for, you can just key in some keywords and because it searched the content of the files as well as the title it will most likely pick up what it is you were after. You can even preview the files before you download them, this comes in super handy because I have wasted a lot of time over the years downloading them only to find they were not what I wanted after all — when you are on a metered bandwidth service any that you can save is a big plus :)

What happens when you mix Tor and Firefox?

Torfox! That’s what.

Torfox is a new browser that is based on the technology behind the world’s favourite browser, Firefox and the super popular anonymity software Tor. It’s goal basically is to make anonymous surfing simple — there are many reasons people want to surf the web anonymously these days, one example being of course to avoid region blocked videos on video sharing sites like youtube and on official sites like CBS and BBC iPlayer — but finding proxies that work can be both annoying and dangerous for your computer. Torfox is as simple and effective as it gets, there are no complicated settings that you need to tweak before you can use it, in fact no configuration is needed at all. Just fire it up and away you go — it will route you through three different proxies and has many more such useful features that will help keep you hidden online!

Just like the softwares it is based on it is completely free to use, you can download it on the official website and be using it in just moments. You can also download it in .zip format and use it on an external drive without even needing to install. It is also open source just like Firefox.

If you use it, let me know what you think :)
