Big Brother Celebrity Hijack - McLaren to star

Malcolm McLaren is to star in Big Brother Celebrity Hijack, according to The Sun.

The music mogul is believed to have signed up for the E4 show, which will replace Celebrity Big Brother.

He pulled out of I’m A Celebrity… at the last minute last month, claiming that the programme is fixed and contestants are bullied by the producers.

McLaren and stars including Little Britain’s Matt Lucas will take on the role of Big Brother in the show, setting tasks for a group of “extremely talented but ordinary” people aged between 18 and 21.

A show insider said: “We have Malcolm on board - something ITV couldn’t do.”

Big Brother Celebrity Hijack launches on January 3 on E4.

I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here - Biggins denies chatshow rumours

I’m A Celebrity… winner Christopher Biggins has denied reports that he may front a chatshow.

It was claimed earlier this month that ITV wanted the King of the Jungle to host a series in the teatime slot to rival Paul O’Grady’s Channel 4 programme.

However, he dismissed the rumours while appearing on the last episode of the current run of Friday Night With Jonathan Ross alongside Janice Dickinson.

He said: “I’d like to bring entertainment to Saturday night television, a variety show, Biggins’ Big Night!. [But] I don’t want to do a talk show. So many people who’ve done it have failed miserably.”

Meanwhile, Dickinson revealed her feelings about her I’m A Celeb… campmates in the interview, saying: “Lynne wasn’t easy, we’re both abrasive bitches.”

Talking about her companion on the sofa, she said: “Biggins can handle anything, he’s a warrior, I’ll give him that.”

She also described herself as a “softie”, adding: “I was honoured to do this show because it showed me I could be vulnerable.”

The show also includes Extras star Stephen Merchant, cricketer Andrew ‘Freddie’ Flintoff, and music from Mark Ronson featuring Ricky Wilson and Candie Payne.

I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here - Biggins will return to panto.

I’m A Celebrity winner Christopher Biggins has confirmed that he is planning to return to panto.

Biggins took a break from the theatre in favour of appearing on the ITV1 reality series, but he is now hoping to land a role in a production of Dick Whittington.

“When I made the decision to do ITV1’s I’m A Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here!, I was nervous about taking a break from panto. If it failed, I knew it could be disastrous for me, not least financially,” Biggins wrote in an article for the Mail On Sunday. “But, thrillingly, the show was a great success and now I want to get back on stage.

“The first show I’d like to do is Dick Whittington - because of the rats. In fact, I’d like to write a scene where King Rat gets into bed with me, as happened in the jungle when a real rat jumped on to my hammock. I can’t wait.”

I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here - Jungle Star Marc Arrested

ACTOR Marc Bannerman was arrested over a confrontation with paparazzi after he had lunch with Cerys Matthews at a pub.

The former EastEnders star became embroiled in a row with photographers after a meal with his fellow I’m a Celebrity … Get Me Out of Here! contestant on Friday afternoon.

The actor travelled to Cerys Matthews’ home in west Wales last week after forming a close relationship with her in the Australian jungle.

After leaving the television show, Matthews, who found fame as lead singer with the band Catatonia, confessed she was in love with Bannerman and wanted to spend the rest of her life with him.

Bannerman and another man were released on police bail pending further inquiries into the incident outside the Ship Inn in Trefin, Pembrokeshire, west Wales.

Meriel Murphy, who owns the Ship Inn business, said Matthews was in a ‘distressed state’ following the confrontation.

‘It was horrible because they had such a nice time in the pub,’ she said.

‘Cerys was very distressed and I had to fetch a car to take her home.’

A spokeswoman for Dyfed-Powys Police said: ‘Police are continuing with the investigation into an incident outside the Ship Inn, Trefin which occurred on Friday afternoon.

Two persons have been arrested in connection with the incident.

They have been released on police bail pending further inquiries.’
