I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here - Bannerman sorry for his action.

Marc has spoken about his exit from the show and has revealed that he feels “deeply sorry” for his actions in the series.

The actor was the first celebrity to be voted off the programme after building up a close relationship with fellow campmate Cerys, even though he has a long-term girlfriend.

Speaking about his time on the reality show, Marc said: “My trouble, I think, was I just tried to put everything that I know and loved to one side, just to try and live in the moment just try and be centered just try and live, basically, because we were living a very basic life there. I forgot about… you know I just came a bit self-absorbed.”

He continued: “Now that I’ve come back to reality, you know, my point of view has changed a little, but a few days ago I would have said just amazing.”

When asked about his girlfriend of two-and-a-half years, Sarah Matravers, he said: “All I know is she wasn’t there to meet me when I came out of the jungle, so that told me a lot and I know she’s now on the way to London. I spoke to her a little while ago she’s, well, she’s hurt. I’ve hurt her badly.”

The former EastEnders star said he had apologised to Sarah and that he hadn’t planned on hurting anyone.

He went on to say that he realised, even though he hadn’t physically cheated on his girlfriend, that he had taken things too far with Cerys. Marc said: “I’m just sorry that someone’s been hurt in the process. I really am deeply sorry.”

The celebrity then said that he hoped to be friends with Cerys after the show but that he must now do the right thing and go back to sort things out with Sarah in London.

Marc added: “I’m glad that I’ve been voted out now because it would have been awful for me to put Sarah through a moment more despair than I already have… I regret hurting someone badly I really regret hurting someone. I really regret, I really regret that, but I don’t regret anything else.”

I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here - Gaffney defends Bannerman’s flirting

Dean Gaffney has defended his friend Marc Bannerman’s flirty behaviour on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here.

Gaffney, who appeared on the reality show last year, insisted that Marc is a very “tactile” person and that he was in love with girlfriend Sarah Matravers.

The former EastEnders star told GMTV: “I’m the first to say that Marc was silly to flirt with Cerys in front of 10 million viewers and his partner, but the thing we all love about Marc is that he’s very tactile.

“He was kissing Rodney Marsh on the lips two days ago - that’s just Marc.”

When asked about Marc’s girlfriend, Gaffney said: “She’s obviously been humiliated, she feels, in front of family and friends and the general public.

“I’ve been fortunate to be out with Sarah and Marc at a function together and they’re very much in love. They are very touchy-feely and very close.

“So I think it’s just being in the jungle, it’s a mad experience and you can’t explain it unless you’ve been there.”

Gaffney also revealed that he had convinced Bannerman to appear on the reality show in the first place, saying: “Marc rang me up and said, ‘Do you think I should do it?’, and I said, ‘It’s not even an issue, Marc, you have to do it. You’re out of work, haven’t really been on telly much since EastEnders. It’ll keep the wolf from the door.”
