Site News – A few Minor Updates

Just a few minor things to share today.

Dodgy adverts – Last week I added some code to the site from a new advertising source, at first it seemed fine but then people started reporting some strange happenings. Videos not loading, site loading very slowly, being redirected elsewhere etc. Please note it is never my intention to have ‘annoying’ ads on this site, it’s one of RealityTVFan.orgs selling points – so if you ever see anything like that please let me know and be aware it’s not there intentionally. Thanks

Kell on Earth – This show is proving very hard to find, I believe six episodes have aired already but I have only been able to get the first two. Hopefully I will be able to get them to share with you eventually but please be patient in the meantime

Dailymotion Snapshots – Dailymotion have just updated their player and since they have I am no longer able to manually change the snapshots you see in the video stills. Obviously this isn’t ideal as they can often give away what happens in the episode and I usually always check for that before posting and change if necessary. I’ve sent them a message to see if they can tell me why it’s not working but for now you might just have to try squinting a little and not looking too closely before you hit play

Top Chef USA 3 – More episodes coming at ya in the next few days!

Site News – Computer Issues Revisited

Good news all, my computer is going to be fine!

My expert was able to restore it to how it was before it died, meaning that all my files are perfectly fine and my hard drive is undamaged. The virus is still on my computer however, so I am currently backing some stuff up and then will be reformatting to make absolutely certain it has gone this time – as mentioned I cleaned it last time but it still managed to come back so I’d rather not take the risk again.

Will probably take all day to reformat and then start reinstalling all the programs I need etc (and I am afraid I have better things to do tonight, already have tickets booked for Avatar 3d – I do need to have a life away from this site sometimes ) but normal service on the site should resume tomorrow.

Site News: Computer Issues

Good day all. Bad news, my computer is dead as a doornail.

Yesterday I had a virus on my computer (Antivirus 2010) which I thought I had successfully removed but when I came to turn my computer on today it wouldn’t boot up. Unfortunately I don’t have vista discs at my house so can’t use them to try and restore, every thing else I have tried like downloading Vista recovery discs and installing XP instead has failed.

So I am afraid I am stuck with a dead computer and only occasional access to my mums ancient old laptop until probably Tuesday or Wednesday when I can get an expert to sort it out for me.

What does this mean for you? Well, I simply won’t be able to upload any shows until it’s fixed because this laptop doesn’t have and wouldn’t be able to run all the programs and software I use in order to do what I do. Of course I am not just going to leave you hanging and will be posting as many shows as I can from uploads I find elsewhere online – I just won’t be able to upload anything myself so there won’t be any Dailymotion uploads and it may take me a day or two to find episodes.

Wave your hands in the air if you hate bloody viruses!

Site News: Internet Issues Revistied

So some of you may remember I posted this at the start of December, and will have no doubt seen me moaning about it ever since.

The basic gist being my ISP started ‘Taffic Management’ and my connection went totally down the pan – extremely slow P2P, extremely slow web downloads and uploads, extremely slow general speed and streaming was made impossible.

I have been trying to move away ever since but since I was signed up to a 12 month contract they were refusing to let me go (without paying a hefty penalty).

The good news is after much wrangling, I am now out of my contract and free to move to a new ISP – Phew. It will still unfortunately be a few weeks before I am away from them as migration can take a while – but once I am outta there normal service will resume in terms of how fast I can post things and the volume.

In related news I am going to be posting Dancing on Ice, but due to the throttled P2P it’s taking a lifetime – hopefully it will be up tomorrow.

Launch my Line episode # 6 has not been posted yet because I can’t get hold of it, unrelated to my ISP issues – but as you should know by now if you are a regular visitor to RealityTVFan.org I am constantly on the look out and will post it as soon as I can

I am uploading the next episode of Top Chef 2 now, but progress will continue to be slow on it until I am moved away.
