Big Brother 9 UK – Darnell & Kat record ‘Cookie Love’

Good news Big Brother fans…or…erm…is it? Darnell and Kathreya have been in the recording studio working on ‘Cookie Love’, the song we all know from their time in the house. The two videos below show Darnell and Kat having a chat about it, as well as some of Kat’s caterwauling, erm…singing I mean. Enjoy.

Big Brother 9 UK – What the housemates did next

And so here it is, the final official program from Big Brother 9 UK. It was a great series slighly spoiled by a terrible winner for me, but overall I thouroughly enjoyed it and I enjoyed uploading it to youtube every night for 90+ nights for you guys — even the annoying impatient ones among you ;)

Enjoy and don’t forget to stick around as there is plenty of reality tv here to keep you entertained until Celebrity Big Brother 6 kicks off in January :)

Big Brother 9 UK – Finale Ratings

Last weeks Big Brother 9 finale drew a series high of 4.71million. Though the highest in the series, its the lowest of all nine Big Brother finale’s ratings.

As taken from Digital Spy’s Rating Roundup:

The main results show, which saw Rachel Rice crowned the surprise winner, drew an average of 4.71m (23%) for Channel 4 in the 10pm hour. While still huge numbers for the channel, the ratings are the lowest for a BB finale in its nine series history. Last year’s August 31 finale drew 5.3m (29%), which was also a record low at the time and a fall from the 7.5m who watched the 2006 finale.

The best-rated BB finale was the 2002 edition, won by Kate Lawler, with 9.4m. The victory of transexual contestant Nadia Almeida in 2004 also drew huge numbers, with an average audience of 8.3m.

Earlier last night, the first live show pulled in 3.85m (16.9%) in the 8pm hour. Timeshifted service Channel 4+1 brought in additional audiences of 376,000 (1.9%) to the 8pm show and 166,000 (1.5%) to the 10pm show.

E4’s spinoff chatshow Big Brother’s Big Mouth, fronted by Davina McCall, received a massive ratings boost with with 1.03m (8.7%) for E4 between 11pm and 11.50pm. E4+1 added 86,000 (1.5%).

Opinion: Big Brother 9 UK, What the producers did right

Now that the series is all said and done, what did the producers do this year that really worked? What do they deserve credit for? What would you like to see again?

I’ll start off with a few:

* Eviction announcements from studio.
Exactly how it should be, they still got glimpses of public opinion via people shouting over the wall and the like, but not allowing them to hear crowd chants has definitely kept them in the dark a lot more than in previous years.

* The Structure.
I have appreciated the structure this year. Every day (except Thurs?) there was something to tune in for…Sat HOH, Sun Heaven/Hell swap, Mon nominations, Tues task starts and Nominations announced, Weds task ends, Fri eviction.

* The task room(s)
I’d much rather the space be used for a task room than a house next door or hidden room. Imagine the tasks we wouldn’t have had space for this year without it? The cycling task, OK GO video, police line up, cake making etc etc

Add yours :)
