Britain’s Next Top Model Cycle 6 – New Panel Revealed

The new judging panel for the upcoming sixth series of Britain’s Next Top Model has been revealed.

Julien MacDonald OBE, Grace Woodward and Charley Speed will join new host Elle Macpherson when the show returns in the summer. The three judges and Macpherson will award the eventual winner with the title of Britain’s Next Top Model as well as a contract with Models 1, a cover spread with Company and a campaign with Revlon.

MacDonald’s designs have been worn by many celebrities such as Cheryl Cole, Kylie Minogue and Paris Hilton, while his roles have included head designer of knitwear at Chanel and creative director of Givenchy. He launched his own label in 2004 and was awarded his OBE two years later for services to fashion. You may also remember him as a judge on Project Catwalk.

“I am honoured and excited to be chosen as a judge on Britain’s Next Top Model,” said MacDonald. “I hope my passion and experience within the industry can help create a show that is both realistic and fun, but more importantly, find the new face that can grace our catwalks.”

Woodward was handed the ‘Fashion Stylist Of The Year’ award in 2009 and runs her own company, which combines her writing, marketing and creative direction talents. Speed found fame at the age of 17 appearing alongside Kate Moss in a Calvin Klein advert. He was named the ‘Male Model Of The Year’ at the 1997 VH1/Vogue awards.

Speed said: “I was really excited to be asked to join the panel of BNTM. Having modelled internationally since the age of 17, I feel I have the experience to help the girls negotiate the pitfalls and pinnacles of what I consider to be one of the most exciting careers out there.”

Woodward added: “The appointment of Elle Macpherson as the host of BNTM is going to catapult this show into überdom. Personally, as an industry professional, I relish the challenge of developing a new generation of properly great models.”

The Biggest Loser Aus – Ajay Rochester No Longer To Host

Sad news for Ajay fans, great news for her detractors. It seems Ajay will not be back to host the 5th series of The Biggest Loser Australia next year.

Ajay Rochester will no longer host Channel Ten’s The Biggest Loser.

The network confirmed today that Rochester is leaving the popular weight-loss reality TV series after four seasons.

“Ajay has been a valued member of The Biggest Loser family and we wish her well,” said chief programming officer David Mott, adding Rochester was pursing “new opportunities”.

It has been a tough year for the 39-year-old.

In January, Rochester avoided conviction on 23 charges of welfare fraud after accepting more than $14,000 in Centrelink payments to which she was not entitled.

Previously named Lee Ann Towler, Rochester shot to fame as the author of books Confessions Of A Reformed Dieter, Blubberguts and The Lazy Girl’s Guide To Losing Weight And Getting Fit.

She began hosting The Biggest Loser in 2006.

Personally, I am gutted as I really liked her — but I know a lot of people found her to be a poor host. The only question now, is who will replace her?

I have heard whispers and fan campagins to get Alison Braun of season 3 the gig, hmm. Would you like to see Alison as host? Feel free to add your support on the official forums or drop them an email about it.

Site News: Host Move update

Just a quick update to say that, touch wood, the move I made to my new host a few weeks ago has been a complete success. I have not had any down or slow time at all, even when it’s been an exceptionally high traffic day — it’s still early days I suppose, but so far so good!

Site News – Moving Tomorrow

Hello all. Thank you so much to the 10 of you that kindly donated to my new web hosting fund, you guys sent me a total of $112.50 of the $120 total bill — that’s amazing, you guys rock! If you don’t see this reflected in the widget above, try clearing out your cache as it seems to not always update on it’s own.

I was not planning on moving to the new host until the end of the week, but due to now having plans I have decided to do it tomorrow instead*. If you were planning on donating but hadn’t got around to it yet, please feel free to still do so either via the chipin widget or just by using the ‘Donate’ button that is permanently in the side bar over there :)

The good news is that as this is a planned move the transition should be pretty seamless, chances are that you won’t even notice anything is going on. But if you do experience a little down time or things acting funky over the next couple of days, don’t panic.

I shall post again when the move is 100% complete.

Thanks every one.

* Assuming my computer is fixed, I broke it last night and am currently using the one at my parents house. I am reformatting mine tonight and expect it to be fine and dandy by tomorrow…but you know what it’s like, things can go wrong!
