Site News – How to stay in touch

If you are new to RealityTVFan.org you may not know of the various ways we make it easy for you to get your daily and weekly fix of your favourite shows so here’s a quick run down.

You can subscribe via email to the categories that are of interest to you – then whenever a new post is added in that category you’ll be sent an email to let you know.

You can subscribe via RSS so that whenever a new post is added you’ll know about it via your preferred RSS reader.

Or you can follow @RealityTVFan on Twitter which is automatically updated with a nice convenient link for you when a new post is added.

And if you simply love RealityTVFan.org and want to show off your fandom to your friends and family you can become a fan on Facebook. Be sure to check out the list of existing fans where you will see several familiar faces from various reality shows you will have no doubt watched here :)

Site News – Sub me back, yo!

Something people often ask me, is “Why won’t you accept my friend request on youtube” — or often I get comments to let me know that someone has ’subbed me’ and I should sub them back, I never do.

The simple reason why is that I use my friends and subscription lists to promote my own channels, you’d be amazed at how many people don’t even realise I have a website…yes despite me including the URL at the start of all videos, posting the link in the description of all videos, having the URL in my background image etc — so any extra form of promotion I can get for my channels is a good thing. Please don’t take it personally, I don’t subscribe to or friend add anyone :)

Subscribe to Categories on RealityTVFan.org

Remember, RealityTVFan.org has a really neat new feature that allows you to subscribe to the specific categories that are of interest to you and recieve email notification when new posts are added to them. This means you don’t have to keep checking several times a day to see if your favourite show has been added yet, just sit back and wait for the link to be sent directly to you.

Subscribe to Categories is back.

Those of you who have been visiting RealityTVFan.org for a while now will probably remember that you used to be able to subscribe to any categories you liked on the site, and receive an email notification each time a new post is added – but unfortunately after a few months of use my webhost informed me it did not comply with their anti spam policy and I would have to stop using it right away, so I did.

Well it’s now several months later and I have finally found an alternative script that will do the same thing, that does comply with their policy thanks to a very friendly coder tweaking his script a little for me, hurrah.

Here’s how it works, head on over to this page and enter your email address into the box, make sure subscribe is selected and then hit submit – you’ll get an email that will contain a link you need to click in order to confirm your subscription and this is also the place where you are able to select the categories you want – by default you’ll be subscribed to all categories except, Buzz, Private and Test – so if you don’t want notification about all new posts to the site, be sure to change that. Then whenever a new post is made in one of your chosen categories you’ll get an email right to your inbox to let you know. Each email also contains a link that leads to a page that allows you to either change your categories or unsubscribe entirely.
